JAZZ FACTORY - IKARAI 'MUHAMMAD'
Sun, Oct 20th, 15.00H
A tribute to the greatest boxer of the twentieth century, Muhammad Ali comes to Verkadefabriek in October. The epic battle between Ali and George Foreman in 1974, nicknamed the Rumble in the Jungle, seems to lend itself perfectly to a musical score: rhythmic and grace mixed with striking jabs and uppercuts. With the musicians positioned in a real boxing ring, it is sure to be an exciting fight between classical, jazz, and pop.

BLUE ROOM SESSIONS - GUY DAVIS
Tue, Nov 19th, 20.30H
The blues man, Guy Davis, was born in New York City. However, his songs do not mirror city blues, but are reminiscent of the blues of the Mississippi Delta. His most recent album brings back the pure blues. It is evident from the track, Sonny & Brownie's Last Train, dedicated to Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee. Guy's 14th album consists of beautiful acoustic blues with warm vocals supported by his sublime guitar finger-picking.
BLUE ROOM SESSIONS - GUY VERLINDE, NIELS DE CASTER EN OLIVIER VANDER BAUWEDE

In 2015, Guy Verlinde (also known as Lightnin ’Guy Verlinde) performed with the Finnish singer Ina Forsman in The Blue Room Sessions. However, this time around we are changing it up completely. Guy will perform together with Nils de Caster and Oliver van de Bauwede. Nils de Caster is a virtuoso multi-string man, best known for the Broken Circle Bluegrass Band. Olivier van de Bauwede is known for playing the acoustic guitar and particularly his sublime harmonica playing. You can expect one perfect night.
LAKSHMI - ADEM
Thu, Dec 19th, 20.30H
Adem is a modern story of a girl in her twenties living in a man’s world. Her songs are sometimes about being the hero, but she favors the anti-hero, the underdog. It’s about being proud of where you are, but secretly always longing for recognition. Lakshmi is fascinated by the constant desire to be perfect, while at the same time enchanted by everything that creaks and cracks. She sings these contrasts in her pop-noir songs filled with both electronic and classical elements, played by her musicians and amplified by images.
